70 HOUR KETTLEBELL TEACHER TRAINING

Our next training is taking place in March 2025, and is now open for registration. We will be accepting 10 trainees for this 70 hour training, which will take place over two 4 day modules, and multiple weeks of practice teaches. This training is for anyone keen to offer kettlebell focused group fitness classes or private lessons.

What are the benefits of taking this training:

This is more than just a training that will teach you physical skills. This training will teach you how to be a strong instructor, including:

  • How to aid in improving movement patterns

  • How to concisely cue movement

  • How to intelligently program group classes and private sessions

  • How to describe anatomical actions and teach others about their own body

  • Earn Continuing Education Credits (This course has been accredited for 70 CEC’s through BCRPA)

This is a great opportunity to learn from experienced and qualified coaches who have guides thousands of people through Kettlebell classes and private sessions. You will develop greater communication skills, learn about the human body and why we move the way we do, as well as hone your leadership and coaching skills. Not only will you learn how to support others on their wellness journey, you will also improve your own physical fitness and ability. Teaching opportunities will be available after training is complete.

KATIE THACKER

Katie Thacker owns and operates Third Space Movement. Katie has been working in the fitness industry for over a decade and has coached thousands of people in Victoria and throughout the west coast to find improvements in how their body, mind and spirit integrate and operate. She is a certified personal trainer, mobility specialist, kettlebell coach, yoga teacher, meditation teacher and more. As an ex-competitive gymnast, and through years of study,  Katie has a deep knowledge and understanding of spatial awareness and proprioception, which she works diligently to communicate and teach to those she works with. Katie is caring, intuitive, and loves to learn. Expect to nerd out and find a deeper connection to your truest self when working with her. 

BRANDON SHERBROOK

Brandon Sherbrook owns and operates Third Space Movement. He is a certified mobility specialist, kettlebell coach, yoga teacher, trainer and more with over 10 years of experience in coaching groups and individuals to move with more intention and less pain. Brandon is a playful and youthful soul who truly cares about each person he connects with. Always willing to learn, grow and see things from a new perspective, Brandon is an adaptable and compassionate person. Expect to laugh, hear words of encouragement  and invite a sense of lightness in when working with Brandon.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Attend a minimum of 10 Kettlebell classes at Third Space, or equivalent

  • A desire to learn more about yourself through developing self awareness, cultivating knowledge of the body, developing communication skills and more

  • Must attend all hours of the training and complete two practice class and take home exam to receive certification

DATES & TIMES: 

This training will take place over two four day modules. You must attend all hours of the training to become certified. 

  • March 6- 9, 2025 from 8:15am-4:45pm

  • March 27-30, 2025 from 8:15-4:45pm

After the training, each attendee will teach two practice class at Third Space, as well as attend a minimum of 3 other practice teaches. The dates for the practice teach will be determined during the training. We will spend 65 hours in the classroom together, and the remaining hours will be earned through practice teaching.

SAMPLE SCHEDULE

Each day we will begin at 8:15 am and end at 4:45 pm. The following is a sample schedule of what each day will entail:

  • 8:15-8:30 am: Morning Grounding

  • 8:30-10:00 am: Movement Session

  • 10:00-10:15 am: Break

  • 10:15-12:00 pm: Lecture (Anatomy, Language & Cuing, Programming etc)

  • 12:00-1:00 pm: Lunch Break

  • 1:00-1:05 pm: Afternoon Grounding

  • 1:05- 3:00 pm: Lecture (Movement Mechanics Lab, Anatomy, etc)

  • 3:00-3:15 pm: Break

  • 3:15-4:45 pm: Practice Teaching & Closing

LOCATION:

This training will take place at Third Space located at 721 Kings Road, Victoria, BC. Amenities at the studio include:

  • Showers and towels

  • Lunchroom with fridge, microwave, toaster oven, instant hot water

  • Rooftop patio 

  • Free parking for a maximum of 3 vehicles. Carpooling and biking will be recommended.

INVESTMENT:

  • Earlybird Price: $1450.00 + GST (Until February 6, 2025)

  • Regular Price: $1600 + GST (After February 6, 2025)

To reserve your spot in the training, we require a non-refundable $500 deposit. The remaining balance is due by March 1, 2024, unless you have a payment plan in place. Anyone looking to pay via credit card will be charged an additional 2.5% to cover transaction fees.
