Hi, I'm Calum. I’m a registered clinical counsellor (BCACC #23339) with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. Before becoming a counsellor I held many different roles where I always found myself helping people. At first, my mechanical engineering background led me to the computer-aided design of prosthetics. From there, I spent 12 years helping rugby players and coaches make decisions under pressure at hundreds of competitions including the Olympics and Rugby World Cups. I’ve co-founded three men’s support groups which promote emotional literacy, communication, and belonging among men. I’ve also worked in the trades, public service, and corporate coaching. While my job titles have varied, I’ve consistently built safety, trust, and deep connection with those around me.

I’m a strong believer in counselling’s ability to help people move through life’s difficult periods from my experiences as both a client and practitioner. I’m genuinely honoured that you’re considering working with me. Please know I’m committed to supporting you with empathy, respect, and dedication during our work together.

Outside of counselling, you’ll usually find me outdoors with my wife and Timber - our flat-coated retriever mix. I can’t seem to walk past a bike shop without being drawn in, and Timber is the same with anywhere he thinks might have treats.

As a practitioner, I have an Integrative approach that uses many different modalities, while always being person-centred, relational and strengths-based.  I meet you where you are, as you are.  Together, we find what is right for you, informed by your needs and goals, as well as a deeply human, intersectional lens that is rooted in compassion and respect.

The work we do together generates hope: hope for change, hope for resolution, hope to understand and to be understood. It also develops new awarenesses and strategies, alleviates suffering, builds capacity and generates wellness.

I look forward to helping. You can reach me by email:  wholepathcounselling@gmail.com
